There’s no better place for businesses to promote their goods than on the Internet – that’s a fact. And in order to attract customers’ attention, every businessman has to think about creating a digital marketing strategy.
What is digital marketing?
It doesn’t matter if your business is small or large, the essence is the same – digital marketing is a marketing or ad that takes place through a digital medium (e.g. phones, computers). The main goal is to attract potential customers and increase the income of a company.
Digital marketing tactics:
Digital marketing has many tactics, but we’re going to tell you about 4 basic ones:
- Search engine optimization
Search engine optimization, or SEO, is the process of improving and optimizing your website content to satisfy Google’s ranking algorithms.
To begin with, you can include in your content particular keywords, or:
- Earn backlinks
- Optimize images
- Create a Google My Business profile
- Use HTTPS
- Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising
PPC is a strategy where you pay advertising platforms to display ads for your business. PPC differs from organic results by the «Ad» icon in the top corner.
To launch a PPC campaign on Google Ads, you first make a list of keywords you want to target. Then you bid on those keywords based on how much you can pay to display your ads.
- Social media marketing and advertising
An interesting fact: an average user spends 28% of their Internet time on social media. So why not use them for our purposes?
Start by picking a social platform (Facebook, Instagram, Vk, etc.). Then post engaging materials that encourage interest in your brand and attract your potential customers.
Plus, you can always use paid social media advertising. Target your paid ads toward groups that match certain characteristics (age or location) and that ensures you reach the most relevant possible audience.
- Web design and development
And last but not least. Digital marketing is about convincing potential customers that you’re worth buying from, and your site should reflect it.
Choose visuals and word choices. Plus, optimize page load speed, mobile-friendliness, and clear navigation. With all these technical features, users will not only visit your site, but want to stay on it.
